Research Foundry Code of Conduct

Research Foundry is global coalition of researchers, public health officials, organizations, and innovators who believe that large-scale problems can and should be solved collaboratively. This level of collaboration requires participants to engage in professional behavior and to share responsibility for the collaborative work environment. 

By using the Research Foundry platform and application(s) available through researchfoundry.burstiq.com (collectively, the “Site”) and the services and Content (as defined in the Terms of Use) available on or at the Site (the Site, the services, and the Content taken together, the “Service”), you are agreeing to abide by this Code of Conduct, as well as the Research Foundry Terms of Use Agreement (the “Terms of Use”).
Interpersonal Behaviors

An international collaboration involves diversity of language, customs, work styles, and experiences. To ensure that the collaborative work environment remain positive and supportive, you are expected to:

  • Treat all users with respect, professionalism, fairness, and sensitivity;
  • Never harass, bully, discriminate, demean, pressure, or insult any other user;
  • Seek, accept, and offer objective work criticism, and acknowledge the contributions of others;
  • Communicate constructively and listen actively;
  • Be transparent about your qualifications, your limitations, and about any circumstances that might lead to conflicts of interest;
  • Do not solicit other users for payment or work; and
  • Step away considerately. Participation with the Service is voluntary and there is no requirement for a long-term commitment. However, when you leave or reduce involvement, please do so in a way that minimizes disruption. If you are actively participating in a collaboration, take the proper steps to ensure that others can pick up where you left off.

Confidential Information

The Service may include participation by industry competitors, and unless provided in a Content License, the Service does not include any specific obligation for users to maintain the confidentiality of other users’ information. As such, you should not disclose information that is proprietary, confidential or otherwise protected by intellectual rights, without first entering into a specific non-disclosure (or similar) agreement with any user(s) to whom you will disclose such information. 

Anti-Trust & Intellectual Property

Any information about other users that is acquired by you through participation in the Service may not be used in any manner that would constitute insider trading or violations of applicable laws, including U.S. antitrust laws. Any ideas, innovations, or inventions that are developed or reduced to practice through collaboration by multiple users through the Service may not be used for profit or gain without the express written license and consent from all other users that participated in such collaboration.
